LSU’s annual football coaching clinic will feature speeches from three-time NFL MVP Brett Favre and former LSU All-American Marcus Spears, the university announced on Thursday.
The clinic, which takes place March 31-April 2, will feature workshops and speeches from the majority of the LSU coaching staff. Spears is scheduled to speak on the first night of the clinic and Favre is the featured speaker on Day 2.
Favre, who will be inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, threw for 71,838 yards and 508 yards in his 20-year NFL career. After his retirement, he was the offensive coordinator at Oak Grove High School (Hattiesburg, Miss.) for two seasons before taking a reduced role in 2014, according to Stan Caldwell of The Clarion-Ledger.
Spears was a first-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft after two First-Team All-SEC seasons at LSU. He spent eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and finished his career with a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens. He has since served as an analyst on SEC Network and is a co-host of SEC Nation.
