At first glance you may have thought it was a mistake.
It appears it was not.
In his most recent college football bowl projections, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm does not have LSU making a bowl game this season.
This week, SEC Country rounded up bowl projections from across the web and the Tigers were projected by numerous outlets to reach one of four bowl games: Texas Bowl, TaxSlayer Bowl, Belk Bowl and Citrus Bowl.
When looking at Palm’s projections the Tiger were listed in none of the aforementioned contests.
LSU currently sits at four wins, and needs only two more to reach bowl eligibility, but Palm’s prediction is not out of question.
The Tigers still have games against No. 23 Ole Miss, No. 1 Alabama, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 15 Florida and No. 6 Texas A&M.
LSU plays both Arkansas and Texas A&M on the road, so capitalizing on the home field advantage against its other remaining foes will be essential.
If Ed Orgeron wants a shot at removing the interim tag from his title, a strong finish to the season and a bowl game will be musts.
