LSU has reportedly already made an offer to Jimbo Fisher, an “extremely substantial” one at that.
From the sounds of his Wednesday night radio show, Florida State fans are coming to terms that he might be tempted by Baton Rouge and the SEC.
“Thanks for coaching us, Jimbo,” one fan said.
A younger one inquired, bluntly, whether Fisher would be back with the Seminoles next season.
Fisher offered a couple of reassuring responses.
“I love it,” he told the first.
And, reportedly with a giant grin on his face, Fisher told the second: “Listen, I love it here. I really do. So just be patient. We’re good.”

Meanwhile, in another part of the state, former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was being pestered with Fisher-to-LSU questions. If Fisher’s former quarterback — whom in two seasons he only lost one game with — still has any influence in Fisher’s thinking, he exerted it Wednesday.
“I can’t imagine Florida State without Coach Fisher,” Winston said.
For now, Fisher and the Seminoles are preparing to host their in-state rivals, Florida, on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. Ed Orgeron gets his last chance to sell himself for the LSU job when his Tigers travel to College Station for a Thanksgiving afternoon game at 2:30 p.m. CT.
