First an offer, and now an official visit.
St. Augustine High School (New Orleans) defensive tackle D’Andre Christmas-Giles set up his official visit to LSU for Jan. 15.
LSU is one of six SEC teams that the three-star prospect included in his top 10 released earlier this week.
Christmas-Giles has previously taken two official visits — to TCU on Dec. 4 and Texas on Dec. 12.
He is expected to take three official visits in January.
The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle decommitted from Tennessee in December as his recruitment began to pick up, particularly as he picked up offers from other SEC schools.
Soon after he reopened his recruitment in December, Christmas-Giles told SEC Country he was honored to receive the offer from LSU, but a bit confused why it took the Tigers so long to extend an offer his way.
“It meant a lot,” Christmas-Giles said, “but I didn’t know why they came after most schools when I’m right down the street from LSU. It meant a lot to me. They’re a great school.”
Christmas-Giles also told SEC Country he will announce his decision on National Signing Day, where he will have three hats on the table.
Christmas-Giles is rated as Louisiana’s No. 22 player and the nation’s No. 40 defensive tackle, per 247sports’ composite rankings.
