LSU’s first-quarter offensive woes this season have been well-documented. Entering Saturday, LSU hadn’t even recorded a first down in the first quarter, let alone scored points.
Well, in one throw, new starting quarterback Danny Etling and wide receiver D.J. Chark erased both of those problems, connecting on a 37-yard strike in the back of the end zone that led to LSU taking a 7-0 lead over Mississippi State.
