Derrius Guice used Twitter to share his thoughts late Wednesday after it was revealed that a team reportedly asked the former LSU running back at the NFL combine if he likes men sexually.
Earlier Wednesday night, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio relayed word that Guice shared on SiriusXM that an unspecified team asked the player if he likes men. The situation led to a statement from NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy to Florio on Thursday in which McCarthy wrote that the question “is completely inappropriate.”
Late Wednesday night, Guice published the tweets below:
It remains to be seen what will happen with this situation. In McCarthy’s statement to Florio, it was revealed that the NFL will investigate the matter.
A prospective NFL player has faced this situation before. After the 2016 NFL Combine, current New York Giants cornerback Eli Apple said he had faced a similar question.
Whatever the outcome of the most recent incident, Guice figures to be a potentially dynamic presence for his future NFL team. He ended his LSU career with 3,074 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns from 2015-17.
