The LSU football program is facing a lot of uncertainty, but it’s yet to hinder it’s recruiting efforts.
LSU hosted 5-star Alabama commit Dylan Moses and 4-star Amite (La.) wide receiver DeVonta Smith for Tuesday’s practice, multiple sources confirmed to SEC Country.
Moses, making his second unofficial visit to Baton Rouge since committing to Nick Saban’s team, is home for Thanksgiving week after IMG Academy’s season come to a close on Saturday.
Smith, who has long been considered an Alabama lean, has taken in yet another LSU practice after making multiple visits to game this fall and giving the in-state power added attention since the spring.
As LSU prepares to travel to Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night, much uncertainty hovers over the program in regards to its head coaching position. That has not hindered the team’s pursuit of its top targets.
Moses is an early enrollee and will graduate from IMG next month. That means that despite his commit to the Tide, he’ll have to finalize a decision in about a month’s time before inking his letter of intent.
For Smith, Louisiana’s top-rated prospect, a decision is coming on National Signing Day. It is shaping up to be a battle between Alabama and LSU, with time lessening before a commitment comes. LSU needs at least one, or possibly two more wide receivers to round out the position in its 2017 haul.
