What LSU recruits are saying about Ed Orgeron being hired
BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU finally pulled the trigger on a new coach, and it’s an awfully familiar name.
Ed Orgeron will be introduced as the Tigers’ football coach on Saturday, less than 24 hours removed from his interview with athletic director Joe Alleva.
The Cajun coach earned the job over Jimbo Fisher, who spurned the Tigers to remain at Florida State, and Tom Herman, who seemingly had more interest in Texas than he did in LSU.
Orgeron was 5-2 as LSU’s interim head coach and improved to 11-4 in combined interim stints at Southern Cal and LSU. In a word, this is not the same coach who led Ole Miss a decade ago.
With the news dropping Saturday, LSU’s commits were quick to offer their reaction to the next head coach:
Myles Brennan, 4-star QB: “I’m good with that! I think Coach O will do a great job!
Lowell Narcisse, 4-star QB: “He deserved it.”
