Kirk Herbstreit compares LSU’s Leonard Fournette to Adrian Peterson
LSU tailback Leonard Fournette is running wild once again, and his latest touchdown run against Syracuse on Saturday had Kirk Herbstreit comparing him to Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson.
Herbstreit regarded Fournette as the “most physically imposing” running back he’s seen in the college ranks since Peterson played for Oklahoma. Peterson ran for more than 4,000 yards and 41 touchdowns in three seasons for the Sooners.
Fournette finished with 244 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against the nation’s 3rd-best rushing defense entering the day. For the second straight week, he nearly broke Alley Broussard’s school record of 250 rushing yards but came up just short. His latest touchdown run had plenty of experts buzzing.
