There’s no bigger media personality in college football than ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit. So when Herbie gives you some love, it’s usually something worn as a badge of honor.
On Monday night, LSU QB Brandon Harris indicated to fans on Twitter that he was going to be returning to play for the Tigers in 2017 in spite of losing his starting job back in Week 2 of the regular season.
Herbstreit must have caught wind of that announcement by Tuesday morning, because he was fully prepared to heap praise on the quarterback’s decision with a tweet of his own:
Hearing that @bharrisqb1 will return next yr to LSU. If true-how refreshing to see a QB hit adversity & stick it out instead of transferring

LSU fans may have mixed feelings for the popular ESPN College GameDay host at the moment, as he both praised Brandon Harris and criticized Tigers RB Leonard Fournette within a 24-hour period.
One things Herbstreit has been pretty consistent on within his positions on these topics is his love for college football and his desire to see guys stick things out and play for and with their teammates as long as possible. And for that, we can’t fault Herbie. We love college football, too.
