Sports fans around the country were shocked on Saturday night when Manny Pacquiao was upset by Jeff Horn on a controversial unanimous decision in a welterweight boxing match. Consider Patrick Peterson, a former LSU and current Arizona Cardinals cornerback, among them.
But when Peterson took to Twitter to voice his opinion (like many others) after the match’s shocking conclusion, he took it one step further, comparing it to what he believed was just as bad of a blown call from the past.
Remember the 2009 matchup between LSU and Alabama? Peterson does, as he nearly notched an interception with six minutes to go and the Tigers trailing by seven points that potentially could have caused a momentum shift and changed the outcome of the game.
But Peterson was ruled out of bounds and the play was called an incompletion. Alabama went on to win, 24-15.
Peterson reminded his fans with a picture of the play in his tweet on Saturday night:

So, which was the worse call? Peterson certainly likely has an opinion on that question.
