Remember when LSU coach Les Miles’ status was incredibly up in the air going into the final game of the 2015 season vs. Texas A&M? It was a moment hard to forget.
And it was a time where the Tigers weren’t about to let Miles down, either.
Former LSU safety Jalen Mills, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, said Thursday during an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show that he and his teammates simply blocked out the noise and did their job.
“That last game was for him … we literally said, ‘Die on the field’ and came out with a win,” Mills said.
The end result was indeed favorable. The Tigers beat the Aggies 19-7 and LSU opted to retain Miles.
It’s very clear LSU has its coach’s back, and look at the team now — it is in national championship conversations for the 2016 season.
