It’s not every day that a Houston Astros third baseman comes sliding into your DMs.
On Sunday night, that’s exactly what happened when former LSU star Alex Bregman — the No. 2 overall pick by the Astros in the 2015 MLB Draft — direct messaged a fan with the Twitter handle @AllenH83.
Allen H wrote that the franchise should trade Bregman for pitching help prior to the upcoming trade deadline on July 31. Bregman clearly doesn’t agree, and he reached out to the fan to let him know.
Here’s the back-and-forth between the two. Allen H had the caption: “Well, to say I received some odd DMs tonight is an understatement haha. At least I know I have a no trade clause now.”
By Monday, Bregman had deleted his Twitter account.
Allen H apparently has some personal history with Bergman, who allegedly made a bad impression on the fan by not being very kind when he saw Bregman while partying. This was according to a tweet from the fan a week earlier.
