Former LSU tight end Tyler Edwards passed away Saturday night in Monroe, La., according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate. The cause of death was not revealed and remains under investigation.
Edwards, 26, played 39 games for the Tigers and caught just one pass for 10 yards during his LSU career. He was the brother of former LSU tight end Eric Edwards, who was a member of the 2003 national championship team.
UPDATE: Here’s LSU coach Les Miles talking about Edwards on Monday:
Les Miles on Tyler Edwards: “That’s just so sad. I don’t know what to say. He busted his tail for us and did everything we asked him to do."
