Former Southern wide receiver Devon Gales was honored once again, this time at an LSU baseball game.
Gales, who suffered a paralyzing neck injury during a game with UGA in September, threw out the ceremonial first pitch in Baton Rouge, La., as LSU and Southern squared off on the diamond Tuesday night.

Gales’ tragedy has sparked numerous acts of generosity across the country to help support him and his family. It is uncertain whether Gales will be able to walk again, but he is now able to carry 80 percent of his weight as of last month when he was released from Athens Regional Medical Center.
Nonetheless, Gales’ story has served as an inspiration and has helped positively shape many lives in the process.
