What a difference an offer can make.
That’s the case with Jamel Cook, a four-star safety and Florida State commit.
After an offer from LSU on Jan. 7, Cook is rethinking his next step, according to NOLA.com’s Andrew Lopez.
“It means hard work really pays off,” Cook said. “I’ve been looking forward to getting offered by LSU and hopefully going up there and playing and competing for a starting spot.”
Cook is trying to visit Baton Rouge, La., this month, per Lopez, and has tentative plans of heading to LSU on Jan. 29. He is scheduled to officially visit Miami on Jan. 15 and Louisville on Jan. 22.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound safety from Miami Central High School (Miami, Fla.) received his offer from LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond.
Cook is rated as the nation’s No. 10 athlete and Florida’s No. 21 prospect, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
