Leonard Fournette already broke LSU’s single-season rushing record earlier in the season and he just altered the history books during the Texas Bowl too.
The sophomore broke the school’s single-season record for rushing touchdowns with his 20th score of the season during the third quarter of the Texas Bowl. LaBrandon Toefield had owned the record since the 2001 season.
Fournette is primed to finish his season on a strong note. He finished 256 total yards and four rushing touchdowns plus a 44-yard touchdown reception as LSU trumped Texas Tech 56-27. It’s pretty evident Fournette and the Tigers were determined to end this season on a strong note.
