LSU coach Les Miles confirmed that his star player will be on the field against Mississippi State this Saturday.
That’s bad news for Bulldogs defenders who hoped to avoid running back Leonard Fournette in Baton Rouge. The Heisman candidate rushed for 138 yards against Wisconsin on opening weekend before hurting his ankle, then missed Week 2 vs. Jacksonville State.
He was apparently looking healthy on Wednesday evening.
“Nice practice,” Miles told the media, per Glenn Guilbeau. “I’d guess full speed ahead.”
That’s in line with Miles’ message Monday, when he said he expected Fournette “to be back and ready to go in this game.”
Fournette ran for 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns last season, but has yet to score in 2016.
