It’s a different week, but the same verdict on Leonard Fournette’s playing status.
No. 7 is expected to miss this Saturday’s home game against Southern Miss, LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday.
“I don’t think he’s going to play,” Orgeron said, adding that Fournette has still not returned from practice. “I would not expect him to be ready.”
Fournette has missed games against Jacksonville State and Missouri.
Orgeron believes his return will come at some point in the season.
“It’s taking a little longer than we thought,” the coach said.
Derrius Guice is expected to start his second consecutive game and his third overall on the season. Guice, a sophomore, currently leads the team in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
