LSU tailback Leonard Fournette’s odds to win the Heisman Trophy actually got a little longer this week. Bovada listed Fournette at 1:2 odds to win the award entering Week 8 after being listed at 5:11 a week ago.
Fournette’s odds got a little worse, but he is still the favorite to win the award by a mile. Baylor quarterback Seth Russell poses the greatest threat to Fournette’s Heisman hopes. His odds improved to 11:2 after he tossed five touchdown passes against West Virginia last weekend.
The list of Heisman contenders has dwindled, with only nine players were placed on Bovada’s board. The only other SEC player listed was Alabama running back Derrick Henry, who ran for 236 yards and two touchdowns last weekend against Texas A&M. Henry’s odds improved from 20:1 to 16:1.
