Leonard Fournette’s historic day could be done after injury scare
Leonard Fournette’s historic day might have ended with an injury scare. The running back ran gingerly off the field after taking a helmet to his leg while diving across the goal line for his third touchdown of the afternoon.
Fournette is having an incredible game against Auburn. He has 228 yards on only 19 carries for a gaudy 12 yards per carry. His yardage total is a career high and is also the most in a single game for a running back under head coach Les Miles.
Unfortunately, Fournette’s Heisman highlight-reel day could be over. Fournette’s injury doesn’t seem to be serious, but LSU likely won’t take any more chances with its star running back in what is turning out to be a rout at Death Valley.
It appears Fournette’s injury is just a minor bruise, but he has not appeared in the game since that touchdown run early in the third quarter.
Reportedly, @_fournette has a minor thigh bruise.

That noise you just heard was a sigh of relief from #LSU fans everywhere. Leonard Fournette got banged up, but he looks fine now.

That's probably last we see of Fournette today. No sense risking it. #LSU
