Les Miles has a personality that is made for television. And thanks to ESPN and his lack of a coaching job, we’ll finally get to see the Mad Hatter behind the desk at the Worldwide Leader.
ESPN announced on Wednesday afternoon that it will utilize the former LSU coach as a guest analyst during its National Signing Day coverage on ESPNU. Miles is expected to offer his insights into the recruiting game, but we’re hoping for a star-studded performance that could lead to a more permanent role behind the desk if he’s so inclined.
Here’s are the details on Miles’ role from the ESPN release:
Hosts Matt Schick and Joe Tessitore will keep fans up to date on all the news surrounding the day, led by national recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill, recruiting analyst Craig Haubert, and college football analysts Mike Bellotti, Mack Brown, Joey Galloway and David Pollack. The crew will be joined by former LSU head coach Les Miles, who will contribute to coverage throughout the day as a guest analyst, sharing his insight and experiences on the recruiting process.
Though his name was associated with several head coaches openings over the last couple of months, Miles was unsuccessful in finding the right fit for a return to the college football sidelines following his Sept. 2016 firing by LSU.
