Les Miles is always good for a unique quote.
So naturally, when discussing LSU’s nationally renowned recruiting class on Wednesday, he found a way to bring … grass into the conversation.
In an interview with CBS Sports, Miles somehow, someway stumbled upon the topic of his occasional grass eating.
And actually, the Mad Hatter provided some insight into the origin of his unusual habit.
“You would figure that a guy that spent as much time on actual natural turf would understand a quality blade of grass and how it changes the taste in one’s mouth,” Miles said, referring to the CBS Sports co-host Brady Quinn.
“You must have never played right field. That was the dubious distinction that I had. I have gone out to a right field where you needed something to do.”
Alas, a verdict.
It raises the question of whether the landscaping at LSU’s Tigers Stadium is somehow correlated to the one right across the road at Alex Box Stadium.
