If LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was late to report to Tigers preseason camp, no one would blame him.
Not after what he’s been through.
Delahoussaye was a passenger in the Wisconsin car accident that killed former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler and Nebraska punter Sam Foltz last month.
His injuries were relatively minor, as he sustained bruises and a burn on his leg which his father attributed to helping save his life. But the emotional wounds surely are still fresh.
On Wednesday, the LSU kicker reported to check-in for preseason camp with the rest of his teammates.
The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger snapped a picture of Delahoussaye on his way into the facility, and got a brief but encouraging reply to a question about his leg burn:

If Delahoussaye is in the frame of mind to contribute for LSU this season, it will be a big boost for the Tigers.
After making 24 of 29 field goal attempts for the Tigers during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Delahoussaye spent the 2015 season behind former LSU kicker Trent Domingue on the depth chart. But Domingue recently transferred to Texas after LSU opted not to renew his scholarship.
That leaves the kicking job wide open for Delahoussaye to claim during his senior campaign.
