On Tuesday, LSU coach Ed Orgeron revealed just how little he misses his time at Ole Miss, although he fondly recalls chicken-on-a-stick at one particular gas station.
“No, you know, I used to stop at the Exxon and get a chicken-on-a-stick, and they were fantastic,” Orgeron said. “I hope that cook is still there, and I can stop and say hello to her. That’s about all I remember.”
Well, LSU has been able to track down that cook. Her name is Phyllis, and she has a new LSU shirt.
Omg the #LSU equipment staffers showed up at the Chevron today and gave Phyllis an LSU shirt.

It’s likely that Orgeron is referring to a not-so-ordinary Chevron called “Chicken on a Stick.” After hours, it offer delicious late-night food ranging from hot crispitos, pizza sticks and potato logs. And, of course, Orgeron’s favorite: chicken on a stick.
LSU faces Ole Miss in Oxford at 7:15 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN. The Tigers have lost two straight at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
