“DBU” has added yet another gem to its 2019 recruiting class.
Maurice Hampton, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback from Tennessee, has committed to LSU over Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Memphis and Louisville.
Hampton earned an offer from LSU at the team’s Junior Day event in late February, when he met with defensive backs coach Corey Raymond and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.
The Memphis (Tenn.) University School product is the second defensive back pledge in LSU’s 2019 class, joining in-state cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., who committed to LSU after securing an overture from coach Les Miles during last month’s prospect camp.
Hampton finds himself in the unique position of also earning a scholarship to play on the Tigers’ baseball team.
