LSU will end the recruiting contact period on a very high note.
The Tigers added a huge piece to their 2019 recruiting class in the form of 5-star offensive lineman Kenyon Green.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder from Atascocita (Texas) High received his LSU offer this weekend prior to his state semifinals game against Lake Travis. His decision to commit came just a few hours later.
Green, rated as the No. 6 prospect in Texas’ sophomore class and the No. 8 offensive tackle in the cycle, has been courted by LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes since the summer.
The Lone Star State product attended LSU’s satellite camp in Houston this June and made a handful of unofficial visits this fall.
LSU was Green’s first scholarship overture.
Green is LSU’s fourth commitment in the 2019 class. He joins fellow blue-chip offensive lineman Kardell Thomas and defensive backs Maurice Hampton and Derek Stingley Jr. He is the second LSU commitment since Ed Orgeron took over as the Tigers’ full-time head coach.
