Former LSU QB Anthony Jennings is joining the New York Jets after agreeing to a free-agent deal with the team.
Jennings transferred from LSU after the 2015 season and played at Louisiana-Lafayette as a graduate transfer last season. The NCAA recently denied his request for another year of eligibility.

The Jets didn’t draft a quarterback this year after drafting Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg in 2016 and Baylor QB Bryce Petty in 2015. They recently signed QB Josh McCown, who may be their starter in 2017.
Jennings completed a career-high 59.8 percent of his passes for the Ragin’ Cajuns last season. He threw for 2,178 yards, 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, while running for 341 yards and 9 touchdowns. He had a 6-7 record as a starter for UL-Lafayette.
