LSU men’s basketball coach Johnny Jones has lost an assistant from his staff.
Al Pinkins will leave the Tigers to pursue another coaching opportunity, the school announced Monday.
“We appreciate all of Coach Pinkins’ contributions to our program last season,” Jones said in a statement. “We wish him and his family all the best.”
Pinkins departs after just one season in Baton Rouge. Previously, Pinkins was an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Tennessee (2014-15) and Ole Miss (2011-14). Prior to those stints, he spent eight seasons on the coaching staff at Middle Tennessee State.
