Heavy rain and flooding in and around Baton Rouge has caused LSU to cancel its Fan Day and Media Day scheduled for Sunday, the school announced.

The Fan Day is not going to be rescheduled.
“Safety is our primary concern right now,” LSU Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva said in a press release. “Unfortunately, with all of the high water, flooding and continued rain, there is no way that we can put people in harm’s way so we have no choice but to cancel this event.”
LSU’s campus was closed Saturday and Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency in the state as rain continues in the area.

It is expected to continue raining throughout the day too. There may be no end and safety is the primary concern for those affected by this flooding.
