Ed Orgeron was asked about the Hugh Freeze situation at Ole Miss, and LSU’s coach complimented the former Rebels leader.
As relayed by The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger on Wednesday, Orgeron said he thought Freeze “did a great job at Ole Miss.” Interestingly, Orgeron added that comment was all he would offer on the matter, after Orgeron was pressed whether he had reached out to Freeze after Freeze resigned last Thursday shortly before shocking details came out about the former Rebels coach’s personal life.
O on Freeze saga: "I think he did a great job at Ole Miss. All I'm going to say."
Has O reached out? "He did a great job at Ole Miss." #LSU

Orgeron shares a tie with Ole Miss. He went 10-25 coaching the Rebels from 2005-07. Orgeron led LSU to a 38-21 victory over Ole Miss last October.
Orgeron handled this situation well. Likely, you’ll see more coaches address the Freeze situation in this way if they’re asked about the topic. General compliments are the right way to go here, given the touchy nature of the issue.
