LSU could be without fullback JD Moore for extended time
LSU running back Leonard Fournette may be without his lead blocker for a while.
During the weekly SEC teleconference Wednesday, coach Les Miles said fullback JD Moore might be out until after LSU’s bye week. Moore sustained a knee injury in last week’s win over South Carolina.
“I think he’ll definitely be out this game,” Miles said. “I’d like to think that he can be back after the bye week. If he makes it back for Western Kentucky that would be super.”
Moore was one of the guys that paved the way for Fournette’s Heisman Trophy campaign. Fournette gave Moore the team’s MVP award after Fournette rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns against Auburn earlier in the season.
LSU’s bye week is Oct. 31, which means Moore could miss LSU’s next two games against Florida and Western Kentucky. Fournette is likely anxious to get Moore back as soon as possible.
