LSU is going to face a high-powered passing offense Saturday, and it might do so without its top defensive back.
Tre’Davious White was not on the field during warmups for the Tigers as they prepared to face Western Kentucky, according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate. Hilltoppers quarterback Brandon Doughty leads the nation in completion percentage and is second in passing yards.
White has been projected to be a first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by multiple analysts who cover the draft. He has 22 tackles this season for the Tigers.
Earlier Saturday, Jim Kleinpeter of NOLA.com reported White could miss 2-3 weeks with a bruised knee.
LSU has faced a backup quarterback in four straight games, and Doughty is a huge step up in competition. He’s on par with Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott and Texas A&M’s Kyle Allen as the best the Tigers will face this season. Doing so without White could be a big challenge.
