LSU DT Davon Godchaux isn’t interested in watching the 2017 NFL Draft. He’s got better things to do.
Godchaux told NOLA.com’s Jim Kleinpeter that he won’t be watching if and when his name is called during the draft from April 27-29. He’s got some other plans
“I might go fishing. I might go bowling,” Godchaux said. “I don’t want to watch TV. I just want to get the phone call. I’ll get Twitter updates, that will be good enough.”
Watching and waiting for your name to be called during the draft can be agonizing, and Godchaux isn’t interested in going through that. Instead, he’ll just wait for the phone call from whichever team takes him.
It’s not likely he’ll have to wait for long, regardless of how he finds out. CBS Sports currently ranks Godchaux as the 13th-best defensive tackle in the draft and the No. 130 prospect overall. He is projected to go in the fourth round.
Godchaux declared for the draft after recording 6.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss last season as a junior.
