BATON ROUGE, La. — All-conference LSU defensive lineman Davon Godchaux has been suspended by the team indefinitely, school spokesman Michael Bonnette confirmed to SEC Country on Monday afternoon.
Godchaux was arrested early Monday morning on a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment following a domestic dispute, and also received a summons for domestic abuse battery and child endangerment. He was released from East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $3,000 bond.
The timing could not be worse for the program, which introduced interim head coach Ed Orgeron Monday afternoon after firing Les Miles on Sunday.
Godchaux, a junior from nearby Plaquemine, has 20 tackles and two sacks this season.
