LSU fell in the Associated Press poll after suffering its first loss of the season to Alabama. The Tigers are now ranked ninth in the latest AP poll.
The Tigers put on their worst performance of an impressive season in the 30-16 loss to the Crimson Tide. LSU’s offensive line was dominated by Alabama’s front seven, and Leonard Fournette ran for just 31 yards on 19 carries Saturday night.
LSU proved on a national spotlight that it will have a hard time winning when Fournette cannot get it going on the ground. Brandon Harris finished 6 of 19 for 128 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
The Tigers were still the second-highest ranked team in the SEC, behind No. 3 Alabama.
LSU still has plenty to play for, however. The Tigers have opportunities to score impressive wins against Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M and could still win the SEC West with some help.
