National Signing Day has delivered a blow to LSU’s hopes of securing the No. 1 recruiting class.
LSU four-star linebacker/defensive end commit Erick Fowler flipped to Texas on Wednesday morning.
The 6-foot-1, 226-pound edge-rusher is a Manor, Texas, native. Though he was a longtime Tigers pledge, the Longhorns have made a steady push for Fowler throughout the month of January.
Last month, Fowler gave SEC Country conflicting reports on the status of his recruitment.
Fowler told SEC Country he wasn’t going to change because LSU gave him the best chance at securing a future in the NFL.
Days later, he told SEC Country was considering all of his options, including the hometown Longhorns.
Fowler is rated as the nation’s No. 7 outside backer, per 247Sports composite rankings.
