In need of a quarterback, LSU has turned to Plan B.
Twenty-four hours after top quarterback target Dwayne Haskins flipped his commitment to Ohio State, LSU extended an offer to Lindsey Scott.
Scott, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound three-star prospect, reported the offer on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Scott de-committed from Syracuse. He picked up an offer from Maryland on Monday, the same day as Haskins’ flip.
Scott lifted Zachary High School (La.) to a Class 5A state championship last month. The nation’s No. 28 dual-threat quarterback, Scott accounted for more than 5,000 total yards and 61 touchdowns his senior campaign. Scott passed for more than 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns, and also ran for nearly 2,000 yards and another 28 scores.
Scott was named Louisiana’s Mr. Football for 2015 and the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year.
LSU is the first SEC school to offer Scott, who officially visited Tulane last weekend and is scheduled to visit both Harvard and Rutgers on Jan. 22-24.
