LSU extends offer to top New Orleans WR Ja’Marr Chase
LSU’s pursuit of New Orleans talent has taken new heights this past week.
The Tigers’ newest offer may be their biggest yet.
LSU extended an offer to 4-star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase on Wednesday ahead of his unofficial visit to Baton Rouge this Saturday for the annual “Boys From The Boot” recruiting function.
Chase, who committed to Kansas earlier this month but reopened his recruitment on Sunday evening, camped at LSU in June and July and was on hand for several LSU games this past fall. GM Austin Thomas is known to be a big fan of Chase, a source told SEC Country.
That fandom turned into an offer for the 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver from newly minted wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph.
Chase, a standout at Archbishop Rummel (La.) High School, also boards offers from the likes of Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee and Arkansas, among others.
Chase is the No. 12 ranked prospect in the state of Louisiana for the Class of 2018. He is ranked as the No. 43 wide receiver in the cycle.
LSU has offered a bevy of New Orleans area wide receiver this past week, including 4-star McDonogh 35 (La.) product Lawrence Keys III and John Ehret (La.) product Jammal Houston. All three wideouts will be at LSU this Saturday.
