OXFORD, Miss. — As they always do, LSU football players took to Twitter after the Tigers’ 40-24 win over Ole Miss Saturday.
Most, but certainly not all, of LSU’s players were stoked about the win. Who wouldn’t be, after holding the SEC’s best passing offense to zero touchdowns through the air and gaining more than 600 yards of offense?
Derrius Guice led the way with 276 rushing yards, while Darrel Williams became the first player in LSU history to rush for 100 yards and receive for 100 yards in the same game. Quarterback Danny Etling was 9-for-13, throwing for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Here’s a quick recap of some of the best LSU tweets of the night:
Who was sleeping on Derrius?
After a few rough weeks of battling through injury, Saturday was Guice’s coming out party. And he’d like to dedicate the performance to this misguided hot-takers who thought he wasn’t worth the hype.
That's for all the ones who doubted me 🤷🏾♂️

But Guice wasn’t the only superstar running back Saturday. Between former LSU linebacker Duke Riley and LSU safety John Battle, Guice and Williams’ teammates couldn’t decide which one was more GOAT-like.

Not everyone was happy…
In a tweet he later deleted, wide receiver Dee Anderson expressed displeasure with offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s game plan. No LSU wide receiver caught a pass in Saturday’s game, which led Anderson to go on a mini rant about his future.
Former walk-on linebacker Jonathan Rucker returned to Oxford Saturday two years after blowing out his knee in the very same stadium. While he didn’t make a tackle, Rucker was humbled to be able to come back and return to the place where his college career very possibly could’ve ended.
Two years ago, I blew my knee out on that field and to get back out there tonight was surreal. All God.

Arden Key tweet of the week
We still don’t know why Arden Key took a leave of absence from football in the spring. At this point, that doesn’t matter. But after a two-sack performance against Ole Miss, Key seems to be past it.
Don’t believe the stats? Check out Key’s tweet:
I’m my only competition so I’m battling with myself. It’s like I’m battling with myself. I done shook off my demons now I’m back to myself. pic.twitter.com/iVdd8O45bp

Cornerback Kevin Toliver II has a new catchphrase. He said it twice after the game. He tweeted it as well. As he’d like to let Ole Miss fans everywhere know, all flights were cancelled.
We don’t just talk about it we be bout it #Allflightscancelled❌✈️

Someone was tired
Ed Orgeron said he knew his players were tired leading up to the Ole Miss game. Now the Tigers have a week off before the season-changing game against Alabama in two weeks. If anyone’s excited about the extra rest, it’s wide receiver DJ Chark.
Man… happy bye week! @LSUfootball 🙏🏾👏🏾
