LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant chats about how severely the Tigers will miss their six NFL early enrollee stars to the draft. Also, Bryant chats about safety John Battle and offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield returning, the crazy journey Steve Ensminger made to being LSU’s offensive coordinator, a comparison to Ensminger Tiger fans do not want to hear, the latest in recruiting, why LSU basketball is in a better spot than most realize and a few facts about trees.
NFL early-enrollee class guts LSU yet again
LSU just watched a productive senior class hit the exits. It did not help that six fellow Tigers decided to make the early jump to the NFL by declaring for the draft. That list of players includes LSU running back Derrius Guice, outside linebacker Arden Key, center Will Clapp, offensive tackle Toby Weathersby and defensive backs Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver II.
Bryant believes missing these six Tigers will be costly. Sure, Guice and Key were locks to leave early. However, losing fringe players Clapp, Weathersby, Jackson and Toliver II creates massive holes on the offensive line and in the secondary.
Steve Ensminger’s journey
SEC Country beat writer Alex Hickey pieced together a brief history of Ensminger’s road to being the Tigers offensive coordinator. Bryant shares his thoughts on how weird it is that he is now running the offense in Baton Rouge.
