LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant is joined in this episode by SEC Country’s Alex Hickey to break down how LSU pulled off a historic 20-point comeback victory against Auburn, how special teams decided the outcome and if the coach Ed Orgeron has silenced all of his doubters.
LSU’s comeback against Auburn was historic
LSU was not given much a of chance against Auburn. The Tigers from the Plains were 7-point favorites with most of the bets being placed on them. They jumped out to an early 20-point lead and their mascot began to troll hard by dressing up as Troy Trojan.
Bryant however thought LSU would fight their way back, which they did. Auburn was overrated heading into this game and the Bayou Bengals exposed them in all three phases of the game.
Special Teams was special
The criticism surrounding LSU’s special teams was immense. The Tigers, without a designated special teams coach, had been inconsistent.
Hickey raved on how complete the Tigers unit was, from DJ Chark’s return to Connor Culp’s clutch field goals to Cameron Gamble’s kickoff efficiency. It was the difference in a massive SEC West tilt.
Projecting the season
LSU’s win against Auburn makes them the third best team in the mind of Bryant. The Tigers’ road tilt against Alabama in early November is the only game they will be underdogs. If they win their projected games, it will give them a final regular season record of 9-3.
Bryant says Ole Miss will be tough on the road for the Tigers after an emotional home win. Can they continue their hot streak?
