LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant shares why he thinks the Tigers are currently the third best team in the SEC, why that is not a good thing, how the unpredictability of LSU is fun and the ramifications of the disappointing play of the SEC quarterbacks. Also, a quick look at betting LSU and Ole Miss with SEC Country’s Wizard of Odds Christopher Smith.
LSU is the third best team in the SEC
Bryant says it is incredible to think LSU, a team that only a few weeks ago lost to Troy, is currently the third best team in the SEC. Unblemished Alabama and Georgia are a distant No. 1 and 2.
The latest AP Top 25 has Auburn ranked ahead of LSU, which Bryant believes is right because their two losses make for a more impressive resume. Gus Malzahn’s bunch has lost to No. 7 Clemson and on the road in Baton Rouge. However, that does not mean they are better.
Kentucky has only one loss, but their best win is against South Carolina. Bryant says the Wildcats will eventually crumble. Mississippi State has a legit case over LSU, but the Tigers would probably be favored on a neutral field.
Bryant says Tiger fans should be happy with their improvement. Yet he follows up with concern, because the SEC’s standards are in question when you can make a drastic jump after losing to Troy in late September.
SEC Wizard of Odds
SEC Country’s Christopher Smith has been an ace picking games this season. Smith gives a quick preview of LSU and Ole Miss. You can watch Smith every Thursday night at 9 pm Eastern on the SEC Country Facebook live stream.
