LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant shares why the bye week helps out LSU more than it does Alabama. Also, SEC Country’s Nick Suss chats about his film study on Derrius Guice’s breakout game against Ole Miss, the Tigers run defense, an early look on some of the Alabama matchups and his yearly tradition of going to Waffle House by himself.
LSU needs bye week more than Alabama
LSU dominated Ole Miss. However, Alabama beat the Rebels, and almost every other SEC team on its schedule, to a bloody pulp. This has given the Crimson Tide the luxury of resting its starters in the fourth quarter, something the Tigers have not been able to do in conference play.
The rest helps out the injury-plagued Tigers. Also, it gives head coach Ed Orgeron an extra week of preparation to get ready the masterful Nick Saban.
Derrius Guice virtuoso performance
Guice’s 276 yards against the Rebels marked the third time he surpassed the 250 yard mark, the most of any Tiger running back. Suss broke down every little aspect of the junior’s record-breaking performance in his latest film study. He shares with Bryant, and in the piece, which players and formations worked the best with Guice running the ball.
Waffle House, Drake and New Year’s Eve
Suss is originally from Georgia, which automatically makes him a massive Waffle House fan. He shares with Bryant why he eats at the restaurant alone on New Years Eve while listening to Drake’s Hold on, We’re Coming Home.
