LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant lays out why Tigers record-setting running back Derrius Guice will have a massive game against Texas A&M in what could be his final game in Tiger Stadium. Also, Bryant shares if Guice can touch the SEC rushing crown, what makes him different from other legendary Tiger running backs and his SEC lock of the week.
Derrius Guice will gain over 200 yards vs. Aggies
Guice has had his fair share of amazing runs, but Bryant’s favorite is one that is rarely talked about. The 75-yard pinball kickoff return against Texas A&M in 2015 was nothing short of sensational.
Guice also rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown in that game. Last season, he raked in 285 yards and four touchdowns against the Aggies in College Station.
Bryant says all signs point to Guice having another memorable night against a possibly unmotivated Texas A&M defense. The Aggies have allowed over 190 rushing yards per game on the ground. Bryant shares a few stats as to why that number is even worse.
Guice promised to put Texas A&M 2018 commit Leon O’Neal Jr. “to sleep” in a Twitter spat this offseason. Though O’Neal is yet with the Aggies doesn’t mean Guice doesn’t use that as motivation.
SEC rushing champion?
Even if the 200-yard projection comes true, Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson to have an implosion on the ground for Guice to catch him. Still, Bryant explains why it is possible.
Bryant missed his lock of the week for only the third time this season. He feels more comfortable this week though picking a game that is not on anyone’s radar. Also, there is one storyline nobody is talking about in the Iron Bowl that will likely decide the game.
