With college football’s 2017 season officially in the rearview mirror, we’ve embarked on yet another long slog of waiting until another regular season begins. It’s an annual tradition. The highlight of that slog, however, is each team’s annual spring game. And although it was never in doubt whether LSU would have a spring game, the date of said game had until this time not been announced. But according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, a date has been set: April 22.
Though it’s just a small respite in a long offseason, the spring game is always an excellent opportunity to spot some potential breakout players, analyze changes to the offense or defense, and evaluate any early-enrolles. In addition, it allows the fans to get their tailgating fix, and in few places is that more important than in Baton Rouge.
LSU’s spring practice begins on March 11.
