The accolades continue to pile up for LSU freshman Ben Simmons.
Simmons was named the winner of the Wayman Tisdale Award by the Basketball Writers Association as the country’s best freshman. The Tisdale Award is Simmons’ third freshman of the year award. He also earned the honor from USA Today and The Sporting News.

Simmons was one of the top players in the country and averaged 19.8 points and 11.8 rebounds with the Tigers. He finished fifth in the country with 23 double-doubles.
Simmons’ season ended with a loss to Texas A&M in the SEC tournament. LSU vastly underachieved during a disappointing 19-14 campaign.
