LSU’s second-leading scorer will miss the rest of the season.
Senior guard Keith Hornsby underwent season-ending surgery on what the school called an aggravated internal injury, according to a press release. Hornsby missed LSU’s first seven games of the season due to a sports hernia and reinjured it during LSU’s 81-65 loss to Tennessee on Feb. 20. He missed the team’s next four games.
This is a big loss for the Tigers, who are hoping to keep their slim NCAA Tournament hopes alive. Hornsby averaged 13.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists during his senior season. LSU is 6-5 in 11 games without him and begins SEC Tournament play Friday.
