LSU fans honor critically injured Southern WR in special way
A group of LSU fans orchestrated a wonderful tribute to Southern University wide receiver and Baton Rouge native Devon Gales, who suffered a serious spinal injury last weekend against Georgia. The fans painted the letters “Pray for Devon 33” on their bodies to honor the wideout.
There has been an outpouring of support for Gales from the college football world. LSU coach Les Miles brought up Gales during his press conference on Tuesday.
“Real quickly, it would benefit us all to recognize people that are having difficulty,” Miles said according to NOLA.com’s Jerit Roser. “Devon Gales suffered a very severe injury on the weekend. He plays at Southern. He’s a Baton Rouge native who played at Central High School. He’s in our prayers. It certainly hits home when it’s one of the local high school football players.”
