One of the top defensive targets left on LSU’s board will make his first trip to Baton Rouge on Saturday.
Georgia outside linebacker Zakoby McClain is set to spend the day in the Bayou.
The 4-star prospect from Valdosta (Ga.) High School named the Tigers as one of his top 10 schools a bit earlier this month. McClain also included Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Oregon, Nebraska, Oregon State and Tulane on that list.
The 6-foot, 205-pound linebacker has never step foot on LSU’s campus before, so his arrival in Baton Rouge looms large for his upcoming decision.
An interesting note: McClain has a previous relationship with LSU freshman fullback Tory Carter. Keep in mind that the freshmen were all back home the past week before checking back in on campus on Sunday. McClain may have been encouraged to make the visit by his hometown pal.
McClain visited Auburn earlier this month and was supposed to return to The Plains before deciding to revise those plans and head to LSU for Saturday.
McClain is a top-250 prospect in the 2018 class. He ranks as the No. 15 outside linebacker and the No. 25 overall prospect from the Peach State, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
